This week was on the challenging side, a good mix of wind and slower tides later in the week made for a tougher bite. The coastal areas have been slightly choppy and murky this week but the backwater and creeks have been clear and holding some fish. The water temp was 71 degrees, which is expected this time of year.
With having some tougher conditions this week there was some fish being caught. Multiple reports of a solid trout bite were keeping anglers happy. Live bait was scarce this week so a jig with shrimp or cut ladyfish and mullet seemed to be what produced the most fish this week. Captain Tyler with Born & Raised Charters ran a handful of trips this week and he reported good bite of small snook and reds in the backwater and trout in their usual holes.
This upcoming week looks promising, some good tide movement with the upcoming new moon and less wind forecasted should make for a few good days on the water.
